The Okanagan College Basketball teams play their final home games of the season against St. Mary’s from Calgary this Friday & Saturday. It has been a great run for the newly formed Okanagan College Basketball programs, with both the women’s and men’s teams having been extremely competitive, building a fabulous culture with emphasis on team play. The programs compete at the highest level each and every time they are on the court and provide exciting entertainment for the ever-growing number of spectators.
Coach Gini “We have had a fantastic 1st year of play. We focused on creating an environment which allows each player to reach their potential. We are competitive and have a lot of hype around our program moving into the future.”
Both the women’s and men’s teams are hoping that everyone can come out and take in the games and show their support. OC Basketball is self-funded and the members of the program from top to bottom are working extremely hard to continue to make Okanagan College Basketball one of the best and most recognized programs in Canada.
Coach Gini “We are structured differently than most college teams. We are self-funded and we are so thankful for the sponsors that helped us out this year. Our sponsors are our lifeline and we are so appreciative of their support. We are hoping we can pack the gym and show off not only our teams, but our sponsors as well. Please come out and support our teams this weekend. We have worked hard to provide another opportunity for our youth to go to school and continue to play sports, as well as another opportunity to continue to promote Okanagan College in such a positive manner. This is a great chance to show the rest of the province why Kelowna is such a community oriented city, and demonstrate what it means to be a part of a positive place to live.”
This weekends games will be hosted at Immaculata Regional High school on K.L.O Rd. The Friday Women’s game is at 6:00pm, followed by Men’s game at 8:00pm. On Saturday, the Women’s game tips off at 10:00 am and Men’s game at 12:00pm. Come out and support your Coyotes!
